Members of the St Leonards Rotary Club and their family and friends raised an outstanding £2,750 for St Michael’s Hospice at three collections across Hastings and St Leonards on Sea in December 2021.

Rotary Club President, Therese Mahindrakar MBE, said; “Over the course of many years the Rotary Club of St Leonards on Sea has raised and donated around £80,000 to St Michael’s Hospice from the proceeds of various collections and events.

“With the support and generosity of the local community it has been our privilege to undertake our Christmas collections on behalf of such a very worthwhile and compassionate charity. Every penny donated by the public at these times is a valuable contribution to such a good cause.

“St Michael’s Hospice provides a compassionate and caring environment for those who require their support, and keeping this care local is very important to all involved. The Hospice is for the community and is supported by the community.

“The support given by the Rotary Club of St Leonard’s to the Hospice is a long-term commitment and we will continue to do as much as we can to help this vitally important charity. Our sincere thanks to all who have helped us over so many years.”

Challenge Event Fundraiser at St Michael’s Hospice, James Beeching, said; “I cannot put into words how grateful we are for the ongoing support of the Rotary Club over many years. They have raised a phenomenal amount and these funds have supported us to provide the high standard of care to people of Hastings and Rother.

“I am particularly grateful for their efforts over the winter period at street collections, as these are often be undertaken in cold and wet weather. We are all incredibly grateful to the club members and their family and friends that joined them.”
