Rehabilitation Support

Rehabilitation Support

Our Rehabilitation team offers a range of specialist services to enable those living with a life limiting, progressive condition in Hastings and Rother to continue to remain as active and independent as possible.

We do this by assessing what a person is able to do for themselves and consider what symptoms or limitations they may have from their condition. We then support them to establish meaningful goals and priorities and work together to identify and use a variety of ways to overcome their personal challenges.

Physiotherapy

Matt and Anna, our qualified physiotherapists, work with patients to improve mobility, strength and flexibility. They also offer practical advice to those experiencing breathlessness.

They support patients that are staying with us at the Hospice, via the telephone and through outpatient appointments to those we are supporting in the community. Outpatient appointments are available in our on-site gym or at The Hub on Rye Hill.

Matt and Anna run our Moving Forward and Breathlessness Support Groups, as part of the Wellbeing Programme.

Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapy team provide practical support to patients both in our In-Patient Unit and within patient’s own homes.

Nikki, Amy and Alicen can assess and advise on equipment needs to promote safety and independence. They enable and encourage participation in meaningful activities despite impairments or limitations in physical or mental functioning. They also offer advice on completing personal care tasks, mobility concerns and managing breathlessness.

The Occupational Therapists facilitate our Growing Together Group, as part of our Wellbeing Programme.
