Last year, the Annual Summer Draw added an extra £19,685 to the weekly draw, bringing the total raised that week to an incredible £36,855. That amount could fund one of our nurses for a full year. Every £1 ticket you buy helps bring dignity, comfort and calm to people like Michael and his mum, Kath, at one of life’s hardest moments.
Michael said; “From the moment Mum arrived on the In‑Patient Unit, the care was beyond incredible. Everyone was so kind. Mum spent time at the Hospice in 2014 after being diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer.
“There was a particular moment I’ll never forget. Mum really fancied some fruit, but was too ill to eat it. One of the nurses got it pureed for her, just so she could enjoy a taste. That heartfelt act of kindness made me feel so happy.
“I was already playing the Lottery before Mum died, but playing it afterwards meant even more to me. I knew giving a regular amount that could be relied on, would help to provide the care that Mum received to others.
“I also continue to play with the Lottery number that Mum had too, which is really special, and makes me feel I’m carrying on her legacy. Seeing the care she
received made me realise how important it was to support the Hospice however I could. Playing the weekly Lottery is a simple, fun way to support the incredible work the Hospice does.

turning an extremely difficult time into a calm one, not only for Mum, but for all of us.”
