This time last year, we introduced you to Lindsey, who is leading the Bereavement First Aid Packs project. The project is generously funded by a donor who wished for community resources to be developed to help people through their bereavement in Hastings and Rother.
We’re pleased to share that the first two packs have been designed in collaboration with local charity, Little Gate Farm; which supports people with learning disabilities and autism, and The Rainbow Kitchen Magic; where people are encouraged to live well and build their confidence in the kitchen.
The Little Gate Farm pack includes activities to support people during big life changes, like bereavement, helping them to manage difficult thoughts and emotions. One of the activities is to create a personalised happiness box, to fill with comforting items and special memories.
Three more packs will be completed this year, including one for primary schools which uses storytelling to explore grief and loss.
