Moments that Matter

At the end of September, we filmed our Christmas Appeal video.  This year we wanted to highlight what matters to our patients and their families, especially around the festive season.  Like most people they are looking forward to spending time together: time with the friends and family, time with their pets, celebrating and making precious memories.  For some though, this will be their last Christmas together.

When thinking about these moments we looked back over the year to see where we had helped create these sometimes small, but powerful experiences.  We made a list; we checked it twice and then early one morning we began our day of filming at the Hospice.

Our occupational therapist Amy and one of our health care assistants, Sara recreated scenes they were so familiar with on a day-to-day basis – the opportunity to help a patient who had difficulty walking to enjoy the simple pleasure of a stroll with their wife or reassuring a patient who was feeling worried and alone.  For many reasons, we couldn’t feature our real patients so our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful actors who volunteered their time and expertise to help us capture some of the Moments that Matter for our patients and their families.

We couldn’t have done it without their support.
