Fundraising Events & Driver Support Volunteer Opportunity

Do you enjoy being out and about, meeting people, and making a difference in your community? Join our Fundraising Team at St Michael's Hospice and help us deliver successful events and campaigns across Hastings & Rother.

We're looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to assist with deliveries, signage, and event setup. If you're physically active and enjoy working independently or as part of a team, this could be the perfect role for you.

Location

  • Hospice & Community (Hastings & Rother area)

Availability

  • Days: As agreed in advance
  • Shifts: Flexible, based on event needs
  • Commitment: Regular volunteering with additional ad hoc support

What You'll Be Doing

  • Delivering and collecting roadside signs for events
  • Distributing promotional materials to venues and schools
  • Assisting with event setup and pack-down (e.g., gazebos, banners, t-shirts)
  • Swapping collection pots and delivering fundraising packs
  • Driving Hospice vehicles (if applicable) to support logistics

Skills & Experience

  • Full clean driving licence (Category B) required if driving
  • Comfortable driving manual vehicles, including vans
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks
  • Reliable timekeeping and workload management

Personal Qualities

  • Friendly and approachable
  • Able to work independently and follow instructions
  • Positive, proactive attitude
  • Confident working remotely and interacting with the public
  • Open to learning and training
