On Saturday 7th May, over 70 thrill seeking participants took to the skies to jump 160ft from a crane in the heart of Hastings Old Town, to raise funds for St Michael’s Hospice and partner charities.

St Michael’s Hospice’s Fundraising Team Manager, Rebecca Futrall, said; “Bungee on the Beach was an incredible event, not only for the Hospice but also for the local community of Hastings and Rother, including many other local charitable organisations who joined us on the day.

“The 160ft crane positioned perfectly against the backdrop of the iconic fishing huts and East Hill lift, made for wonderful views for those brave enough to take the leap! Each person who completed the bungee jumped in support of a charity, helping raise vital funds and awareness. The event raised over £11,000 for the Hospice and partner charities and sponsorship is still rolling in. We are so grateful for all those that took part and look forward to other collaborative charity events in the future.

“I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part and raised funds for the Hospice and to the partner charities; Sara Lee Trust, Hastings Round Table, Martha Trust, R.N.L.I. SSAFA Armed Forces Charity, St Wilfred’s Hospice and to their jumpers, for helping make the event such a huge success.”
