Rother Community Lottery

The Rother Community Lottery is an initiative from Rother District Council, launched to help support local good causes. Tickets for the Rother Community Lottery weekly draw cost £1, of which 50p goes to the player’s chosen good cause, chosen from a list of registered good causes.

St Michael’s Hospice is registered as a local good cause that people can choose to support when they play. This means we receive 50p of every £1 played by those who have chosen to support us.

We are hopeful that supporters who join the Rother Community Lottery may choose St Michael’s Hospice as their cause to support.

Rother Community Lottery is separate to St Michael’s Hospice Lottery and it is important that players understand the differences between each, so we have listed them below:

St Michael’s Hospice Lottery

  • Weekly draw on Fridays, £1 per play.
  • 105 guaranteed weekly prizes from £5-£2,000.
  • 1 in 17,409 chance of winning a prize of £2,000 (other prizes are available to win).
  • 66p of £1 played goes to St Michael’s Hospice (based on 2021/2022 figures).
  • All licensing and Gambling Commission returns are dealt with by St Michael’s Hospice Lottery.

Rother Community Lottery

  • Weekly draw on Saturdays, £1 per play.
  • No guaranteed prizes, but prizes from three free tickets to £25,000 can be won.
  • 1 in 55,556 chance of winning a prize of £2,000 (other prizes are available to win).
  • 50p of £1 played goes to chosen good cause (possibly St Michael’s Hospice), plus 10p to other causes.
  • All licensing and Gambling Commission returns are dealt with by the council.
