We are thrilled Jo Brand is putting on a comedy gig to raise money for the Hospice on Sunday 21st April – what an absolute treat! We were touched when Jo spoke to us recently about her experience of the support her family received from St Michael’s Hospice.

“I’m very pleased to be doing a show at The White Rock in Hastings for the Hospice. Hastings is a town I’m very familiar with and it’s where I lived from the age of 14 to about 19.

“I love Hastings people, despite the fact at one of my previous shows at The White Rock there was a letter waiting for me which simply said, ‘Dear Jo Brand, Please never come to Hastings again.’ I always used to joke it was from my Dad.

“I had two lovely brothers. Matt, my younger brother, died in 2016 in Germany, where he had lived since he was about twenty and Bill, my older brother, died at the Hospice in 2021.

“The Hospice turned out to be an oasis at the end of a very arduous and painful road and I can’t thank them enough for providing a welcoming, calm and kind environment. It meant a great deal to me. I’ll see you all at The White Rock and thank you for supporting this wonderful place.”
