SUMMARY:Waggy Walk 2025
DESCRIPTION:The Waggy Walk is an annual dog walk in aid of St Michael’s Hospice – this year with added wagginess as this time the humans can join in and wag their tails! Join us in Rye Harbour or hold your own Waggy Walk wherever you like (see below). \nThe venue: we are delighted to be joining forces once again with the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve\, one of the most picturesque backdrops you could wish for a dog walk. This year\, we will be setting up at Rye Harbour Village Hall\, very close to the excellent (and free) Rye Harbour public car park. \nThe route: walkers will wag their way along the fully accessible reserve path to the Mary Stanford Lifeboat House and then choose their preferred return route back to the village hall. \nDressing up: this is not compulsory! However\, we are very much looking forward to seeing both dogs and humans dressing up in their finery and prizes will be awarded to the best-dressed in both canine and Homo sapiens categories! Dressing up accessories will be available on the day while stocks are available\, but you are advised to not rely on this option if you are keen. \nTicket prices: £10 per dog which includes registration\, rosette\, dog bandana and a doggy goody bag at the end of the walk. \nFundraising: why not open an online donation page and collect sponsorship for the walk? You’ll be amazed how much you can raise and everyone who raises at least £40 of sponsorship will be entered into the prize draw to win a luxury doggy hamper! We will send all the details you need when you sign up to the event. \nThe vibe: this is a relaxed\, sociable walk for dog owners and families to enjoy the stunning landscapes of Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. Everyone is welcome\, whether you are dressing up or not. \nMarshals: we will have marshals leading the walk at 10.30am. However\, you are welcome to self-guide your walk at any time. A marshal will be permanently positioned at the halfway marker of the Mary Stanford Lifeboat House\, to make sure you turn around at the right place! \nVirtual event: if you can’t be with us at Rye Harbour\, you can hold your own Waggy Walk wherever and whenever you like. Set your own distance\, invite some friends\, dress-up (or not\, as you wish) and get wagging! If you need any support with your event\, just get in touch with us at fundraising@stmichaelshospice.com or 01424 456396. \nTo help you with your fundraising\, take a look at our Waggy Walk Sponsorship ideas. \nThis event is proudly sponsored by Eldridges Animal and Pet Feeds. \nPlease visit our Eventbrite page for more information.
