DESCRIPTION:Remember someone special this summer with our Remembrance Ribbons appeal.\nDedicate a ribbon and watch the tree become a colourful celebration of life. Ellie\, whose mum\, Susie\, died at the Hospice last summer\, shares\, \n“Being part of Remembrance Ribbons is our way of remembering our colourful\, beautiful mum.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvery ribbon tells a story and every donation makes a difference. Dedicate a ribbon to someone significant this summer\, in a colourful celebration of their life. \nYou can make a dedication to anyone\, regardless of whether or not they were cared for by the Hospice. \nOnce you make your dedication on our MuchLoved page\, the name/names of those you want to remember and celebrate will be written on a piece of colourful ribbon. The ribbons will be added to a tree in the Hospice gardens\, where they will dance in the sunshine. \n\nYou can come along to view the tree at any point over the summer\, but we’ll have people on hand for you to make dedications during our Open Garden at the Hospice on Saturday 12th July. \nPlease note\, you will be charged the Open Gardens entry fee\, but you can make use of everything on offer that day\, including\, walking around the beautiful St Leonards gardens\, a live Q&A with Jean Griffin and the BBC Radio Kent team\, a pop-up shop\, plus a lot more. \nTo make a dedication\, visit our MuchLoved page where you will be able to make a donation\, and upload pictures and messages.

DESCRIPTION:Remember a loved one this winter.\nWhat is Lights of Love?\nLights of Love is a series of remembrance services across Hastings and Rother. They offer a gentle\, welcoming space to pause and remember those we miss. Each service typically includes thoughtful readings\, candle lighting\, and times for quiet reflection. Some services also feature hymns\, while the non-religious services offer a meaningful space for remembrance without  religious elements. At the end of each service\, a tree lighting ceremony takes place. Each location’s tree is lit up\, with its branches filled with stars lovingly decorated and dedicated by you in memory of someone special. \nDedicating a star\nYou can dedicate a star online on our much loved page. By dedicating online\, you can upload a message and a photo if you wish\, we’ll then copy your dedication onto a star and tie it to a tree at the Hospice. \nIf you’d like to decorate a star yourself\, you can order stars online. Alternatively\, please email lightsoflove@stmichaelshospice.com with your full address and how many stars you’d like us to send to you. Please note\, to make sure your star withstands the winter weather\, we recommend using a waterproof pen and avoiding sticky tape\, glitter\, or non-waterproof glue\, as they don’t tend to last outdoors. \nOr you can pop along to any of our Hospice shops and reception to collect a star and form. \nWhen you’re ready\, please return your star to us\, either by post or reception\, along with a completed form by Friday 28th November. DESCRIPTION:Christmas tree recycling\nForget the hassle\, this year we’ve teamed up with Just Helping to collect your tree.\nFor a small donation\, we’ll collect and recycle your tree. \nCollections will be on the 8th and 9th of January for any tree in the postcodes: TN34 and TN37-40. \nRegister your tree on the Just Helping website by the midnight on the 4th January to secure your tree collection slot. \nDid you know\, a recycled Christmas tree emits around 12.5kg less C02 emissions than a non-recycled tree.\nWe’re on a mission to cut emissions by recycling Christmas trees. \n  \nIf you can help us collect trees\, please email christmastreerecycling@stmichaelshospice.com to find out how to get involved. \n  \nPlease make sure your tree is in a visible\, easy to access place by 8.30am on 8th January. DESCRIPTION:Move for St Michael’s Hospice at Hastings Half Marathon 2026! \nThe Hastings Half Marathon will be taking place on Sunday 22nd March 2026. \nThe Hastings Half Marathon is a cherished local event featuring elite\, club and fun runners battling with the notorious 13.1 mile route around St Leonards and Hastings. The streets will be lined with supporters who create a fantastic party atmosphere that keeps runners coming back year after year. \nIf you’re planning on running for us\, sign up through their website\, and email us to get your sponsorship form and running vest or t-shirt to represent us around the course. \nOn race day\, we will be with you in our St Michael’s Hospice marquee\, ready to look after you and your supporters before and after the race. \nThere’s the opportunity for the whole family to get involved at the mini-race\, for 7-16 year old’s.
