What is the role?

Wellbeing ‘Drum Fit’ Cardio Drumming Group: Information session 25th March

Drum fit is a fun and energetic drum-based exercise group, using seated drumming to music, and facilitated by trained instructors.

You can find an example of Drum Fit here: https://youtu.be/iPOinlggkmY?si=8qY1oZ-abJDd3Ip-

We’re currently looking for volunteers to support during group sessions at St Michaels Hospice, as well as support one-to-one sessions for patients in their own homes. No previous musical experience or skills are required to engage in this guided physical activity group, although a fairly good level of physical fitness is necessary.

Training for this role will be taking place on both 18th and 19th of April, and you must attend both sessions in order to volunteer in this role.  There will be further training on the 20th of May and continued support leading up to the start of the group on the 3rd of June.

If you’d like to find out more about becoming a Drum Fit volunteer, The Hospice Wellbeing services team will be hosting an information session on the 25th of March from 12-1pm in the Garden Room at St Michaels Hospice. For any queries regarding this session, please contact Matt Wheatley (Rehabilitation Lead) on 01424 445177 ext 6636 or at mwheatley@stmichaelshospice.com
