COVID-19 and volunteering

Coronavirus update - 19.03.2020

At St Michael’s Hospice, we sincerely value the skills and experience of all our volunteers regardless of where and how they support us.

It is regrettable that at this time, we are not able to continue with volunteer recruitment and training.  All planned meetings and training events have been cancelled until further notice.

The Hospice is closely following the advice and guidance provided by the Government and Public Health England and encourages our volunteers to also follow the recommended actions in tackling the Coronavirus outbreak. This may mean you cannot currently attend the Hospice or do your work as a volunteer.

Our website will be regularly updated to reflect our latest position. We hope you understand that we are unable to communicate with all our volunteers on an individual basis due to rapid developments and limited resources available at this challenging time.

If we have an email contact for our volunteers, we are sending regular updates advising of any changes. If you are a volunteer and not receiving these emails, please contact the Voluntary Services team on 01424 445177 to update your information.

Volunteer recruitment

We have currently suspended volunteer recruitment, however, we are still happy to receive application forms/expressions of interest and we will hold these on file for when we can commence with recruitment. Thank you for your patience.
