Gardening Volunteer

Days: To be agreed with our Head Gardener

Location:  The Hospice, Upper Maze Hill, St Leonards on Sea, TN38 0LB

What is the role

Under the guidance of the Head Gardener, you will be assisting in the general upkeep of the grounds at St Michael’s Hospice, ensuring it remains tidy and attractive.

What will I be doing?

You will be supporting our head gardener with the following tasks –

• Mowing and strimming
• Helping in the greenhouses
• Trimming, pruning and cutting branches
• Weeding
• Watering (pots & flower beds)
• Planting 
• Tidying/sweeping/leaf blowing
• Other ad-hoc gardening tasks as required
• Assisting in the maintenance of the tools
• Understanding and demonstrating relevant policies and procedures during your volunteering at St Michael’s Hospice.
