Senior Specialty Doctor - Palliative Medicine
37.5 per week
We have a dedicated 26 bedded in-patient unit, caring for both acute and continuing care patients. We also offer Day Services and a Hospice at Home Service offering 24/7 support to the community. You will be joining the Medical Director in providing senior input for the IPU with the opportunity to provide Specialist Palliative Medical support for the recently expanded Community Services team provided by the Hospice. You will work alongside a Medical Team consisting of 3 Specialty Doctors, a Foundation Year 2 Doctor, a part-time Foundation Year 1 Doctor, and a part-time GP Registrar.
Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team, you will deliver high quality professional care to the patients and relatives in the Hospice. You will work closely with the whole clinical team to ensure that we offer the highest standards of care, developing our services to meet the changing needs of our patients. As a Senior Specialty Doctor you will be expected to partake in teaching
activities within the Hospice, taking an active role in training and
supporting junior staff.
You will need to have MB BS or equivalent and postgraduate qualifications, either MRCP, MRCGP or equivalent. You need to be fully registered with the GMC. Experience in Palliative Medicine either as a Generalist or Specialist is essential.
You will have excellent communication skills, compassion and an ability to work in respectful partnership with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team.
