The late Michael Colvin worked passionately over 25 years to transform this garden from a vegetable plot to a place where family and friends could relax and play. We cannot keep it up to his high standards but we continue to enjoy the sights, scents and sounds he nurtured.

This cottage style garden is comprised of a colourful front garden leading to the rear garden through a side entrance. The borders are packed with a wide variety of plants, there are hanging baskets and container plants. Highlights include a summer house, raised beds and a wonderful central pond.

Designed and maintained by owners with mobility problems. Divided into rooms by steps, paths, slopes and archways. There is a wide variety of trees, shrubs and plants, a rose garden and two ponds. Handrails and plenty of seating. Featured in BBC’s Open Garden series.

How to get there: From Hastings Town Centre head north-east on Queens Road. At the Queens road roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Elphinstone Road, at the next roundabout take the first exit and stay on Elphinstone Road. Turn right onto Ochlitree road.
