Our Education and Development Strategy aims to ensure, that:
Hospice staff and volunteers are provided with the appropriate skills and knowledge required for outstanding performance and safe effective practice in their roles and lead the way in setting standards to which external organisations aspire.
St Michael’s Hospice is regarded as an influential leader in its field and, through the delivery of education and training, improves the quality of care locally, strengthens further the relationships with care homes and generates income to reinvest in quality outcomes for patients
In addition our staff and volunteers regularly undertake statutory and mandatory training to ensure quality of care and safety for all.
We are also currently commissioned by East Sussex County Council to provide End of Life Care workshops as part of their Adult Social Care Training programme for Directly Provided

Syringe driver training
A hands-on workshop for Registered Nurses who are practicing within organisations using the CME T34 ambulatory syringe driver.
Verification of Expected Death Awareness Workshops
An interactive workshop for community based Registered Nurses.
